Smithsonian Museums and Day in DC
Today we explored a few of the Smithsonian Museums: The Museum of Natural History, Air and Space, Native American, and the Botanical Gardens. We took the metro a few blocks down from our hotel and it was so nice to not have to worry about trying to find a parking space, as well as being quite a bit less walking than the night before. The kids enjoyed the Museum of Natural History the most, although Utah really liked the Air and Space Museum as well. I ended up taking Ciera out of that one after a while and we took a break under a shady tree where she played with sticks building 'ant houses'. She had fun and got to rest her feet. Shane wasn't going to carry her as much as he had the day before. Shane and I really enjoyed the Botanical Gardens as well, and the kids seemed to be interested too. It was funny because every time they said they were ready to go they found something that interested them and couldn't be pulled away. We walked over to the Capitol after the museums to take in how enormous it is, and then took the metro back to Dupont Circle, ate dinner near there, and walked back to our hotel to swim and rest. It was a busy, but fun day.

It is so fun seeing you recreate vacations from when we were kids! Tell Cia her new short hair cut is cute!
