Playing in the Sprinkler

{This was at the end of the afternoon after playing in the sprinkler. Marley was exhausted.  Max cam over to lay nearby.}

{The kids are loving being able to pick up a puppy, even though they won't be able to do it for very long.}

{Marley was chasing the kidss all over the place.}

{Marley was in the water as much as Ciera was.  She was drinking the water, attacking the water and just loves getting wet and cooling off on a hot day.}

{Seriously... this pup is a water girl!}

Meet Marley

Marley is an 8 week old girl puppy who was the mellow pup of a litter of 9.  Max took to her right away... no barking at all.  They have been playing together and Max has been trying to hog the toys but in a playful way.  We've had Marley outside a good part of the day, and she loves running around the yard.  Max has been out there a ton of the day too, and his shock collar is working great.  He doesn't need a reminder very often.  I think I'll start taking up the yard flags later today since Marley already started.  Every other flag.

Farmers Market- {Most} Photos By Utah

{And a little bit of humor.}

Good-bye dead tree!

We're not positive what happened, but the landscaping company that did our yard said that our tree damage might have been caused by some kind of fungus in the soil that attacks red maples.  Next week we'll be ordering a new tree, probably a birch instead, and they will replace it within the next few weeks.  I want to see some green leaves again!

We Now Have a Brown Belt

Karate Promotion Test May 2010

The promotion test last night was really small, but it was a great test. Utah did great and now has right at a year until he will get his black belt! In six months when he gets his brown-stripe belt, he can start going to cardio class to get in shape for the very intensive candidate training that he will go through in the spring. Candidate training is 3 months long, twice a week for 3 hours, plus a cardio class each week and running a mile each week.

Utah and Ciera hanging out together.  Utah was playing games on his phone and I'm no sure what Ciera had.  They like to argue with each other lately and get on each others nerves like siblings do, so this was a sweet hanging out together moment.  Ciera has had that little stuffed dog since she was born but has been attached to it for the last several months.

And... Utah's phone.  Which he already lost once... in the mailbox.  Silly boy was trying to keep it from getting wet and forgot he put it there.  He loves keeping up with his friends with his phone.

The Last Couple of Weeks in Photos

{A couple of weeks ago Ciera and I went to a nursery that was next to a farm while the boys were out camping.}

Just A Photo

Shane left today and is now in Wichita, KS overnight. He will drive the rest of the way to Sheppard tomorrow.

I was going to post several pictures on here tonight, but the blog is running slow so tomorrow I'm going to change the template so it will work better. I'll post several more pictures then and will try to remember to put them up on MyFamily as well.

Almost That Time

Shane will be leaving for Texas next week on Wednesday. He will be there for just over two months. Besides the tech school he will be in, and the graduate class is going to be working on, he is planning to spend his time playing golf. Might as well get it in while he can!

If all goes as planned, he will be flying home for 4th of July weekend so we can enjoy some brief family time before he has to go back to finish out the month of July.

The kids are not excited about the time away from Daddy, but they are taking it in stride. I am planning to keep them super busy. Utah will be going to a basketball camp that is one week long and just 1 1/2 hours per day, and the for 5 weeks after that he will be going to basketball two mornings a week for games and drill. It's a great way for him to learn about that sport to see if he wants to play it.

Ciera will be playing softball every Wednesday. Utah will be practicing every Wednesday at the same time as Ciera's games and playing only 5 Tuesdays throughout the summer. Hopefully he will get a lot out of the practices since they don't have as many games this year. They only had enough players for three teams this year through parks and rec. Part of it is because some of the boys went to Windsor ball, which is a competitive league requiring 3-4 nights a week out of the boys. This was not an option for us this year, and Utah says he doesn't want to play it next year either.

Karate will be keeping us busy as always. Demo season got an early start last night and this weekend is already full of practice and then Utah is in two parts of the Black Belt Graduation this time. He is in the Team Eclipse show opener, and then a little skit where he plays someone attacking Kung Fu Panda. I don't know if the panda has a costume or what- should be interesting!

If Utah stays on track, he is likely to be going to Black belt in one year!! Start planning your vacations. :) I know he would love to see some family in the audience.

I plan to start posting more regularly and especially over the next couple weeks so Shane can keep up with what we are doing while he is in Texas.
